I absolutely love Anne Murray's song and it is just perfect on days when things don't look so sunny. I don't know how we'd be making it through the day to day agony of losing our sweet Lucas without his little brother putting smiles on our faces.

Welcome to our Journey

Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.

I gave birth to a little boy on October 24, 2008 after a picture perfect pregnancy of 39 weeks and 6 days. Lucas Alexander was born at 4.59AM on Friday, October 24, 2008 weighing 6 lbs 4 oz and measuring 20 inches.

We brought our little bundle of joy home only a few days later and spent the next 4 weeks in total bliss. Lucas was a perfect baby, barely cried and just easy all around. I never could have imagined how much I would love this little man.

On November 24, 2008, we visited with Lucas pediatrician for his one month well-visit exam. Everything looked great and we went back home. After feeding the little guy and changing his diaper, I put Lucas down for a nap....a few hours later we were in the emergency room and our lives were flipped upside down.

Lucas' autopsy report later found that he had an undiagnosed congenital heart defect called Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return (TAPVR).
